Federal Reserve Education (FRE) is proud to announce that many of the PowerPoint slide decks that support our traditional lesson plans now have accessibility features for students who require visual and auditory accommodations. Each presentation file has been redesigned and tested to contain alt text for all content-based images and can also be easily read by screen readers like the Nonvisual Desktop Access (NVDA) program.
“This is an important step in ensuring that all students can access our valuable economic and personal finance resources in a way that best serves their needs,” said Scott Wolla, Assistant Vice President of Economic Education for the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.
In addition to accessibility, each PowerPoint file also received a redesign to reflect our new branding as Federal Reserve Education and is now available in dimensions that are consistent with modern displays. Many series of lessons like the popular “Making Personal Finance Decisions” and “It’s Your Paycheck” also now have unique layouts to engage both educators and students.
Improving accessibility remains a top priority for the FRE team. Later in 2026, our PDF files for active learning lessons will be made screen reader friendly. Visit the news section of FRE.org for a future announcement of that release.
