New Resource: Video Shorts Discussion Warmups
FRE announces Video Shorts Discussion Warm-ups, a new type of classroom resource that sparks conversation while introducing content to students. Each warm-up activity is a single PowerPoint slide with a 60-second video reel describing a major economic or personal finance topic. The slide also contains a discussion prompt for students to use after watching the reel and an answer key in the Notes section.
These warm-ups provide a quick and easy opportunity for teachers to grab students’ attention at the start of class by offering engaging content that connects to relatable material or prior knowledge. In less than five minutes, a class can watch the clip and conduct a quick discussion before moving to the main part of that day’s lesson. Many video shorts also suggest other FRE.org resources that complement that specific content.
