New Interactive Module: Inflation--What a Dollar Buys Over Time

Federal Reserve Education has an interactive module that helps students see the relationship between time and the value of money. The module offers brief stories with simple examples and thought-provoking questions, illustrating how inflation affects the amount money can buy and why getting paid now is usually better than getting paid later. Students will experiment with an inflation calculator, compare past prices with today's, and see how rising prices influence people’s everyday choices.

This resource is designed for high school students to complete in approximately 30 minutes and comes with a self-grading, multiple-choice assessment that can be easily added to major learning management systems such as Canvas, Google Classroom, Schoology, Blackboard, and D2L Brightspace. Our tutorial page can help you get started.
