February 2026 Page One Graph

History not only helps us explain the past and understand the present, but it also tells the story of a basic economic concept such as economic growth. Be an industrious reader and find out how an economist, an inventor, and an entrepreneur changed the way we work.

In the reading, students will interpret basic demographic data sets in FRED®, analyze simple economic graphs illustrating productivity, and read the story of how the textile revolution in 18th century Manchester England helped ignite a revolution transforming many workers lives away from agricultural work to a modern industrial setting.
