Classroom Guides >> Classroom Activities Structure of the Federal Reserve System The Structure section gives an in-depth look at the interactions of the Federal Reserve Banks with the Board of Governors, Advisory Councils, the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC), depository instutions, and the public. Students will understand how the pieces of the three functions fit together in a triangle for better understanding. Extension Activity After reviewing the three functions of the Federal Reserve Banks, divide
the classroom into two teams. On the classroom floor make a grid that
resembles a tic tac toe game. One team will be the Xs and one team will
be the Os. The teacher asks questions using information that comes from
the Structure site. If the student gets a correct answer, he/she gets
an X or an O and gets to stand where they want in the grid. The first
team to score diagonally, horizontally, or in a straight line is the winner.
