Show Business: The Economics of Entertainment
"Another Action Hero," the second of four stand-alone units of an online curriculum series, focuses on what the film industry can teach us about the economics of international trade and globalization. The entire series is meant to provide an additional tool for teaching and learning about basic economic concepts and history through the entertainment industry. Each unit includes an online game component, narrative background materials, supplemental activities, discussion questions, and a resources section. The first module, "Climbing the Charts," is also available.
Fifty Nifty Economic Concept Cards
The cards are designed for elementary and middle school students to assist them in developing a knowledge base of economic and personal finance words. Using the accompanying Teacher Resource Guide to introduce the word cards and meanings to students should help provide a foundation in economic thinking. The resource guide activities and games will help teachers integrate economic vocabulary into the school day through language, math, social studies and art.
